FuelCube Placement & Compliance Process
Fox Fuel Pro walks you through every step from initial interest to operational FuelCube—so you can focus on your core business while we handle fuel storage logistics.
Site Discovery & Initial Consultation
We discuss your fuel storage needs: consumption volume, equipment types, site constraints, project timeline. Determine which FuelCube model (500, 1000, or 2000 gallon) and program (loan, rental, purchase) align with your operational requirements and budget.
Outcome: Clear understanding of fuel needs and recommended FuelCube configuration.
Site Survey & Placement Planning
Fox Fuel Pro visits your site to evaluate placement feasibility. We assess ground conditions, delivery truck access, clearances from structures and utilities, power availability for AC pumps, and local setback requirements. Provide written placement recommendations with diagrams.
Outcome: Site-specific placement plan with marked locations and access routes.
Compliance & Permitting Guidance
We review applicable regulations: local fire marshal requirements, state environmental permits (if required), SPCC applicability for sites with aggregate fuel storage thresholds. Provide UL142 documentation, installation specifications, and compliance checklists. Assist with permit applications where applicable.
Outcome: Regulatory clarity and documentation package for local authority review.
Delivery, Offloading & Positioning
FuelCube delivered to site by Fox Fuel Pro logistics team. Equipment offloaded using crane truck or forklift (depending on model size). FuelCube positioned at approved location per placement plan. Pump cabinet, hoses, nozzles, and safety equipment installed and tested.
Outcome: FuelCube in position, equipment installed, ready for fuel fill.
Initial Fill & Commissioning
If paired with Fox Fuel Pro delivery service, we fill the FuelCube with initial diesel or gasoline load. If customer is sourcing fuel elsewhere, we verify pump operation and flow testing. Conduct operator training on dispensing procedures, pump operation, spill response, and security protocols.
Outcome: FuelCube fueled, tested, and operators trained for safe daily use.
Monitoring, Refueling & Ongoing Support
Optional: integrate FuelCube with Fox Fuel Pro's Monitoring & Fuel Management service for real-time telemetry and automated refill scheduling. Ongoing support includes 24/7 emergency fuel delivery, equipment maintenance coordination, compliance documentation updates, and troubleshooting assistance.
Outcome: Continuous operational support and fuel supply security.
Site Requirements & Safety Considerations
FuelCube placement requires attention to site conditions, regulatory setbacks, and operational safety. Fox Fuel Pro evaluates these factors during site assessment and provides clear guidance for compliant deployment.
Surface & Pad Requirements
- Ground surface: Level, compacted soil or gravel. Asphalt or concrete pad recommended for permanent installations.
- Drainage: Sloped away from tank to prevent water pooling. No standing water under FuelCube.
- Load capacity: Surface must support FuelCube weight when full (500-gal: ~4,000 lbs; 1000-gal: ~8,000 lbs; 2000-gal: ~16,000 lbs).
Clearances, Setbacks & Access
- Delivery access: Minimum 12-ft wide access path for delivery truck. Turning radius and overhead clearance verified during site survey.
- Setbacks: Typical fire code requires 10-40 ft clearance from buildings, property lines, or ignition sources (varies by jurisdiction).
- Operational clearance: Minimum 3-5 ft around FuelCube for hose access, pump cabinet operation, and maintenance.
Security & Fencing
- Cabinet lock: FuelCube pump cabinet includes keyed lock to prevent unauthorized fueling.
- Site security: Customer responsible for perimeter fencing or access control if required by site security policies.
- Theft prevention: Optional monitoring systems provide anomaly detection for unusual fuel drawdowns.
Spill Containment, Venting & Fire Safety
- Double-wall containment: FuelCube includes UL142 double-wall design with 110% secondary containment capacity—no separate containment required.
- Spill kit: Absorbent pads and drip pan provided for minor spills during fueling operations.
- Venting: Integrated pressure relief venting per UL142 standards. Vent positioned away from ignition sources.
- Fire extinguisher: Recommended (not included). Customer responsible per OSHA and fire code requirements.
Note: Fox Fuel Pro provides compliance guidance based on our regional regulatory experience in PA, NJ, and DE. Final responsibility for permit compliance and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) approvals rests with the customer. We assist with documentation and coordination but do not provide legal or engineering services.
FuelCube Placement Scenarios
Construction Jobsites
FuelCube positioned near equipment staging areas for convenient equipment fueling. Typical placement: gravel pad at jobsite perimeter with 15-ft clearance from site trailers. Paired with Jobsite Fueling for weekly refills via bulk delivery. Monitoring optional for multi-site GCs tracking fuel consumption per project.
Common models: FuelCube 1000 or 2000 for heavy equipment operations.
Fleet Yards & Terminals
Permanent or semi-permanent FuelCube installation at fleet maintenance yards. Positioned on concrete pad with direct access from vehicle fueling lanes. Integrated with Fleet Fueling delivery service and Monitoring for automated refill scheduling and consumption analytics.
Common models: FuelCube 1000 or 2000 depending on fleet size and daily consumption.
Generator & Backup Power Fuel Storage
FuelCube dedicated to backup generator fuel supply for data centers, healthcare facilities, or critical infrastructure. Placed adjacent to generator enclosure with setback clearances per fire code. Monitoring integration provides low-level alerts to ensure guaranteed fuel availability during grid outages.
Common models: FuelCube 500 or 1000 for standby generator runtime requirements.
Facilities & Warehouses
On-site fuel storage for forklifts, yard trucks, and material handling equipment. FuelCube placed in loading dock or maintenance area with forklift access for equipment fueling. Optional monitoring tracks consumption and triggers automated Fox Fuel Pro deliveries when thresholds are reached.
Common models: FuelCube 500 or 1000 based on equipment count and operational hours.
Integration with Monitoring & Fuel Management
Most Fox Fuel Pro customers pair FuelCube placement with Monitoring & Fuel Management service for complete operational visibility and automated fuel supply.
Why Add Monitoring to FuelCube Deployment
- Real-time visibility: Dashboard shows current FuelCube fuel level, consumption trends, and days remaining until refill needed.
- Automated delivery scheduling: Monitoring system alerts Fox Fuel Pro dispatch when FuelCube reaches reorder threshold—deliveries scheduled proactively without manual calls.
- Prevent runouts: Eliminate fuel stockouts and operational downtime from empty tanks. Especially critical for generator backup fuel and 24/7 fleet operations.
- Theft detection: Anomaly alerts flag unusual fuel drawdowns or nighttime consumption that doesn't match operational patterns.
- Multi-site management: Monitor multiple FuelCube units across jobsites or facilities from centralized dashboard—perfect for regional construction firms and multi-location fleet operations.
Monitoring telemetry is installed during FuelCube placement process—integrating monitoring from day one ensures seamless deployment and immediate operational visibility.
